issues when they go to the polls. Over a million <BR>voters in and around New York City, Hartford, Buffalo, St. Louis, <BR>Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Richmond, <BR>and hundreds of surrounding cities were reached with this ad. <BR><BR>The Catholic vote will weigh in heavily during this year's elections. <BR>Catholics make up 25% of the U.S. population, with some 64 million <BR>citizens. Furthermore, Catholics typically vote at a rate 4 percent <BR>higher than Protestants, and the Catholic population is heavily <BR>concentrated in key states with high Electoral College votes. <BR><BR>In the past, most Catholics have not voted according to the Church's <BR>moral teachings. They checked their faith at the door when they <BR>stepped into the polling place. That needs to change. <BR><BR>American Catholics must learn how to vote--not just as Americans <BR>but as Catholics, too. They need to judge each candidate individually <BR>based on where he stands
on key moral issues. They need to exclude <BR>from their consideration any candidate who is wrong on any of these <BR>issues. <BR><BR>But before that can happen, Catholic voters need to know what those <BR>key moral issues are--and what the Church teaches about each one. <BR><BR>The "Voter's Guide for Serious Catholics" clearly and concisely gives <BR>official Church statements on five "non-negotiable" moral issues: <BR><BR>- Abortion <BR>- Euthanasia <BR>- Fetal stem cell research <BR>- Human cloning <BR>- Homosexual "marriage" <BR><BR>After reading it, there will be no doubt or confusion about what <BR>the Church teaches and requires of her children. <BR><BR>It also explains the Catholic citizen's duty to participate in <BR>political life by voting--and by voting in line with Church <BR>teachings.
