We call the legislation "Autumn’s Law" for a child named Autumn who was conceived when her 13-year-old mother was violently raped and heroically chose to give Autumn the gift of life. </SPAN></B></P>

He attempted to coerce the Foiseys to drop the criminal sexual conduct charges in exchange for his giving up claims to parental rights. </SPAN></B></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal"><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Courier New'"></SPAN></B> </P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal"><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Courier New'">The Foisey's refused and were shocked to learn that the man who violently raped their 13-year-old daughter was not barred by law from claiming parental rights to Autumn. As a result, Rep. Bob Leach, R-Greenville, intoduced Autumn's Law into the House, and Senators Leventis, Fair, and Campsen introduced it in the SC Senate.</SPAN></B></P>

"If rape victims are not protected from this kind of abuse from criminal attackers," she said, "then we have a system whereby the only way to assure that the victim is protected is to abort the child." </SPAN></B></P><B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal"><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Courier New'">
