 <BR><BR>        Basically, I want to show you why we need a big “shot in the arm” right now—to boost our financial outlook so we can <U>continue</U> all our work on these projects without skipping a beat.<BR><BR>        <STRONG>So let’s get started . . .</STRONG><BR><BR>        One of our most exciting projects is our <U>radio and TV outreach</U>, which includes <STRONG><EM>Catholic Answers Live</EM></STRONG>—the daily live call-in apologetics program that is now heard by more than <U>100,000</U> people every day—as well as television programs featuring apologists like Rosalind Moss and Jason and Crystalina Evert. It costs us <STRONG>$475,000 a year </STRONG>to run this project. That means we should have raised $158,333 by this time of year. Unfortunately, we’ve taken in only $150,000—<STRONG>a $8,333 shortfall</STRONG>. <BR><BR>   

     Another of our most important efforts involves our four full-time <STRONG>apologists</STRONG> who take care of all the Q&As we get on a daily basis here: thousands upon thousands of questions throughout the year—over the phone, through the mail, and by e-mail, not to mention all the questions these top-notch apologists answer via our Catholic Answers forums (on our web site). It’s a laborious, mentally taxing job—and our staff apologists are second to none. They’re one of the main reasons we live up to our organization’s name! The annual budget for this? $114,873. <STRONG>Current need for the next four months: $38,291.</STRONG><BR><BR>        Then there is <STRONG><EM>This Rock</EM></STRONG>—our outstanding monthly magazine of Catholic apologetics. It costs $585,000 a year to produce and distribute This Rock—plus another $138,000 to advertise for new subscribers to maintain subscription

 levels. But the subscription price doesn’t cover our entire cost of production. Therefore, we now have <STRONG>a $93,759 shortfall</STRONG> compared to where we <U>should</U> be by this time of year.<BR><BR>        Our web site and forums—<A href="http://email.catholic.com/t/6100/45250/20/0/?u=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5jYXRob2xpYy5jb20v&x=561d3399" target=_blank rel=nofollow>www.catholic.com</A>—are also expensive projects to maintain—and worth every penny. We’re reaching ten times more people than ever before because of our powerful web site and forums. But they need to be subsidized by donations. And right now, we’re facing <STRONG>a shortfall of $97,176</STRONG> for this vital project.<BR><BR>        Another <U>critical</U> part of our ministry is the creation of new books, new publications such as our special reports, new CDs, etc. With every new topic that arises today, we create a

 publication that meets the needs of Catholics who hunger to know the truth—and who want to <EM>explain</EM> the truth to others. Since we price our publications <EM>affordably</EM> for <U>massive distribution</U>, we constantly face a shortfall of funds because of <EM>how expensive</EM> it is to produce these items. Right now, <STRONG>that shortfall stands at $74,534</STRONG>—and we have numerous new publications in the works!<BR><BR>        <STRONG>In addition . . .</STRONG><BR><BR>        We’re also making preparations for our participation at <STRONG>World Youth Day</STRONG>—where we distribute our persuasive publications <EM>Pillar of Fire, Pillar of Truth</EM> and <EM>Pure Love</EM> to tens of thousands of young Catholics who are targeted by anti-Catholic organizations with slick propaganda designed to look Catholic. At this stage, our planning for World Youth Day 2008 in Australia

 is costing us a lot of money. <BR><BR>        Then there’s our powerful Chastity Awareness Project run by Jason and Crystalina Evert. They go around the country speaking to high schools, colleges, and parish youth groups, deftly explaining to today’s kids why <EM>abstinence</EM> and <EM>chastity</EM> are by far the best principles to live by. Jason and Crystalina reach <U>hundreds of thousands of kids a year</U>—with dramatic success—and provide them with free chastity literature and materials to help them stay chaste despite all that our culture throws at them.<BR><BR>        We’re also busy providing spiritual support materials to Catholic troops in all branches of the military all over the world. They, too, are targets of anti-Catholic propaganda. For those in harm’s way, receiving a rosary, a Miraculous Medal, a pamphlet on how to make a good confession, and a holy card often

 makes the difference. <BR><BR>

<DIV align=center><STRONG>I Could Go on and on, <BR>But I Think You Get the Point<BR></STRONG></DIV><BR>        All of our projects cost money. And yet they reap <U>tremendous</U> blessings for the entire Church. <BR><BR>        But right now we’re facing these <EM>significant shortfalls</EM> that need to be addressed immediately—which is why I’m writing to you today.<BR><BR>        Catholic Answers needs a big financial “shot in the arm” as soon as possible.<BR><BR>        If you add up all the shortfalls on each project listed above, the total comes to <STRONG>$312,093</STRONG>. And that’s how much we need to raise right now.<BR><BR>        Therefore, I ask you to make a special donation—as much as you can possibly afford—to help us cover all these shortfalls.<BR><BR>
