Dear Gathnetters,<br>Thank you all for your prayers concerning Anne. I have some wonderful news about what the doctor referred<br>to as a miracle! Yesterday, I was really dreading taking Anne to the hospital for the amputation of her leg. We got there OK and checked her in. I was preparing for a long ordeal this week. Anita came to the hospital to be with us during the operation and Beth took care of the kids at home. They came to wheel her up to the operating room and we were calm (I would like to say knowing that God was in charge but the flesh is weak sometimes). We gave her a final kiss as she was wheeled away and went down to the waiting room at the hospital to await the results. As the time is usually several hours for preparation etc, I left Anita at the hospital and went to a nearby Costco to buy a couple of items and to take my mind off of the operation. When I got back to the hospital and parked the car, walked into the waiting room whom should I see but Dr. Levi dressed in his operating garb and apparently looking for me. He said he wanted to talk to me and I ask if he were through with the operation already. He said no but come over here I want to talk with you. I immediately thought he was going to tell me that Anne had passed away during the operation and was bracing myself for this. Anita came over and he started to tell us the news. A MIRACLE! He said when he pulled the bandage off of the wound he thought it was so much better than when he last saw it that he wanted my permission to stop the amputation and continue to let the leg heal!!!!!!!! He of course covered his bets by saying that he might be wrong and we could if necessary do the amputation later on but at this point we all joyfully agreed to let the wounds heal on there own.<br><br>WOW. Our God is wonderful. That is the kind of roller coaster ride I like. With a good ending. Unlike when my mother died, they told us at the hospital that she was recovering well but when we got home from the hospital visit we had a call telling us that she had gone home.<br><br>We are home now and will continue the visiting nurse thing and await complete healing of the leg and then physical therapy to get her walking again.
