Folowing Their Hearts
- 9:1 “weep day and night” - Jeremiah is in an agony of weeping over the vision
of destruction
- 9:2 “leave my people” - but simultaneously, so disgusted at the gross
immorality and sin, that he can’t stand to be near them either.
- 9:3 “bend their tongue like a bow” - words as weapons
Psalm 64:3
- 9:5 “taught their tongue to speak lies” - the purpose of the “woke”
ideology is to train people to speak what they know is a lie, and
do so automatically without a second thought. A pandemic of lies.
- 9:7 “refine and test” - even after all this, God does not cast them
off utterly as a people, but refines and tests them.
- 9:11 “make the cities a desolation” - as promised in
Leviticus 26:32
- 9:13 “stubbornly followed their own hearts” - from watching too many Disney
movies.
- 9:17 “call for the mourning women” - the professional mourners such
as attended the family of Jairus or Lazarus in the Gospels.
- 9:21 “death has entered our windows” - like our portrayal of the
“grim reaper”.
- 9:22 “none shall gather them” - to die and not be buried was the ultimate
dishonor, as promised in
Deuteronomy 28:26
- 9:23 do not glory in wisdom, might, or riches.
- 9:24 “love, justice, and righteousness” - but in knowledge of the Holy One,
who delights in in these.
- 9:26 “uncircumcized in heart” - all the nations listed practiced
circumcision of the flesh. So trusting in circumcision to protect them
was not rational. All these nations were also judged through Nebuchadnezzar.
