The Snow

by Elissa Joy Gathman, February 2003

Through the snow we trudge,
Through the snow,
Under the pines.
Except for the steady crunch of our feet tripping
Through the snow, all is silent.
Throughout the forest snow falls.
Up above, the sun rises,
Shining through the trees,
Onto the snow, making it glow
With dazzling brightness.
Through the snow we trudge,
On, and on, and on.
