[Apologetics] Throwing away a vote?

There are a couple of things that would make me hesitate about Peroutka, who openly stated it in and interview on Fox News that he was raised Catholic but now attends a Presbyterian church. So he's a fallen away Catholic, but in a different way than Kerry. Peroutka still maintains the Catholic stance on abortion. Peroutka is not firm enough on the war on terror, and he is not a supporter of Israel. The latter item would be enough for me personally to not support him. Shame, because on many, many issues, I'm much closer to his stand than I am to the Republicans; as far as the Dems are concerned, they and I are in different solar systems.
Funny, the candidate who is the closest to the Catholic Church's stance on abortion happens to be a fallen-away Catholic! I don't know if I could vote for a fallen away Catholic in conscience, even if he remains in harmony with the Church's stand.
This is the screwiest election I can ever remember.

So gentlemen,
Given that the Republican party is is attracting more pro-choice
conservatives and christians are getting marginalized, should we look to the
Constitution Party? If you say that voting for the Constitution Party (CP)
is like throwing a vote to Kerry, then how will the CP ever get strong
enough to make any kind of difference? For that matter, how much real
difference is there now between the Dems and Reps. Does anyone think Bush
is going to make any real inroads into abortion if he gets elected again?
Looking for answers,
Marty
