On the key, non-negotiable Catholic issues such as the right to life, sanctity of marriage, human cloning and euthanasia, John Kerry is WRONG for Catholics. Our website will be updated and expanded in the coming days, so please make sure to visit it periodically.

On a related note, a recent study comissioned by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life found that Catholics are becoming more Republican. Specifically, the study found that whereas Catholics identified as 43% Democrat and 38% Republican in 1992, they now identify as 44% Democrat and 41% Republican in 2004.  Republicans have increased their share among Catholics and Evangelical Protestants from 1992 to 2004. The study also confirmed previous findings of a correlation between political leanings and church attendance/observance. The breakdown was as follows among self-described:

"Traditionalist" Catholics: 57% Republican, 30% Democrat
"Centrist" Catholics: 34 % Republican, 47% Democrat
""Modernist" Catholics: 38% Republican, 51% Democrat
