[Apologetics] Strange Sculpture

Has anyone gotten the special edition of Newsweek with John Paul II (in green vestments) on the front?  If so, towards the back there is a photo of him with the cardinals and they are standing in front of a very bizarre sculpture.  I also saw this sculpture during the coverage of John Paul's death and funeral but I cannot remember where the sculpture is.  A friend and I are trying to track down exactly what this sculpture is supposed to represent and where it is.
