That could in theory be checked with a little more effort.

Since in Protestant theology, there is no externally applied objective
test for "born-again" (especially with the definition given above), only God
could determine the truth of that statement.  If the definition is modified to
"someone who we know for certain would go to Heaven", I think only baptized
babies could objectively meet the criterion.

Those Protestants who tout their "once saved always saved" doctrine
seem to always forget that in that system, there is no external objective
test of "saved" (some will claim that an individual can know for certain
that they are "saved" based on their internal subjective knowlege that they are
trusting and obeying Christ).
