Aug. 24 (CWNews.com) - "A Man Who Became Pope," the
popular film biography of Pope John Paul II (bio -
news), will be re-broadcast on American cable
television on Saturday, August 27. 

The Hallmark Channel, responding to popular demand,
has announced plans to air the film on Saturday,
August 27. The American television premiere, on August
14, set an audience record for the cable channel. 

"A Man Who Became Pope" traces the early years of the
young Karol Wojtyla, through World War II and the
Communist takeover of Poland, up until his election to
the papacy. The film has been praised by Pope Benedict
XVI (bio - news) for its unflinching portrait of how
totalitarian rule damaged Polish society.
