There was no conflict.  Bethany has always placed many adoptions 
with Catholics.  In Virgina, it is 1 in 4.  The "statement of faith"
was specifically designed to avoid contentious issues (like baptism of 
infants) so as to include everyone from Catholics to Baptists.  
The whole brough ha ha was over one local director in a one part of Mississippi
who mistakenly thought Catholicism was another religion like Islam
(beats me why he thought that, perhaps it was the bowing down
before statues - dig, dig ;-), and should a priori be rejected without
even asking about the statement of faith.  When the matter came to light,
the Mississippi state office reversed the warrantless rejections
and the policy now specifically mentions Catholics - the only 
Christian group so specifically mentioned.
