Page C3 of the Style Section of Saturday's Washington
Post contains some kind of a satire on the comic strip
Blondie (featuring Dagwood), which mentions other
comics.
The 3rd panel shows Blondie saying, "What th-! B.C.
left his weirdo religious literature all over the
house. Yick!"
It shows Blondie looking at a Jack Chick comic book
with a quizical look on her face.
Dagwood is sitting in a nearby chair looking sick,
saying, "OOOoHH AGHH."
As you may know, the B.C. comic stip is drawn by
Johnny Hart, who sometimes puts nonsectarian Christian
elements into his Sunday (but not weekday) comic
strip.
I have read articles about Hart's own evangelical
Christian convictions but did not know much about him.
I certainly had not heard that he was an adherent of
Jack Chick and wonder if it is true. It may not be.
Hart's occasional references to Christianity have
gotten his comic strip suspended in some newspapers or
moved to the religious page.
In response, Hart had this statement on April 15, 2001
at
http://www.freerepublic.com/forum/a3ad8d81d4eb3.htm
As far as I can see, the statement appears to be fine.
Anyway, I thought I'd bring to your attention the Post
satire of Blondie, which mentions Jack Chick.
