I've never seen a statement from Cadinal Mahony
condemning abortion or homosexual marriage. Maybe I've
missed these statements.

Cardinal Mahony prays for humane immigration reform

LOS ANGELES, April 5 (Reuters) - Los Angeles Roman
Catholic Cardinal Roger Mahony, who has emerged as an
influential voice on immigration, called on Wednesday
for humane reforms that did not criminalize some 12
million illegal immigrants.

Mahony, who leads the largest Catholic archdiocese in
the nation, said the United States needed a "new heart
and a new spirit" as he led a day of fasting and
prayer in solidarity with illegal immigrants.
