Hi
Will this mean the possibility of them joining the Orthodox communion,
either as part of ROCOR or under Moscow, which would imply not being part of
the Anglican Use branch of the Catholic Church? Or is it just
re-establishing ecumenical dialogue?
Are there other Anglican-Use Orthodox parishes anywhere, apart from the
ROCOR ones mentioned in the article?
And an aside: if a Western Rite ROCOR parish joined the Catholic Church,
would it fall under the jurisdiction of the Latin rite or one of the
Byzantine Catholic Churches? Would the same apply to ex-Anglican then
ex-ROCOR parishes, who would have fallen under the Latin rite with Anglican
use had they not gone via ROCOR?
God bless,
Stephen

Church Suggests Overture to the Network
Letter from Russian Orthodox Church Suggests Overture
to the Network
8/23/2006
The Russian Orthodox Church has proposed restoring
relations with the seven dioceses of The Episcopal
Church that have petitioned the Archbishop of
Canterbury for alternate primatial oversight (APO).
In a letter addressed to Bishop Robert Duncan of
Pittsburgh, Bishop Edward Salmon of South Carolina,
and Bishop John-David Schofield of San Joaquin,
Metropolitan Kyrill of Smolensk and Kaliningrad, the
chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate Department for
External Church Relations, said Moscow "supports your
act and expresses willingness to restore relations
with your diocese."
