The article states:

"However, far from being a cinema masterpiece, the
film is simply a popular entertainment," it
contended. 

That's EXACTLY what I'm concerned about.

No one--absolutely no one--thought the film would be
"a cinema masterpiece" like Gone With the Wind. My
worry is that it will be POPULAR ENTERTAINMENT!
