Hi

I've been invited to contribute to a progressive Adventist blog, from a Catholic perspective. The blog is called "Re-inventing the Adventist Wheel" and the url is http://reinventingsdawheel.blogspot.com/. I'll be aiming at a monthly contribution. Please don't flood it with messages that make it seem like a Catholic take-over! That's not the aim.

My first post was today. The aim is to try to foster better understanding between Catholics and Adventists - it won't be the more defensive type of apologetics I've done on my website and blog thus far, but rather more dialogue, and teasing out common understanding that might not be recognised, as well as educate both sides about each other. Hopefully both sides can benefit in a real way from this.

The progressive form of Adventism is not like the traditional form, and certainly not like the form that puts up billboards advertising the idea that the Pope is the Beast of Revelation.

For instance, on the blog the author states "I believe that a doctrine of perfection found in the Sanctuary message of the Investigative Judgement (fundamental #24) is not consistent with the finished work of Jesus' death on the cross. In updating the meaning, "Judgment" should instead emphasize working to model divine justice on earth." - http://reinventingsdawheel.blogspot.com/2006/04/qualifying-this-blog-for-adventists.html

This is the message welcoming me to the blog: http://reinventingsdawheel.blogspot.com/2007/05/welcome-stephen-korsman.html

And this is my first post: http://reinventingsdawheel.blogspot.com/2007/05/gods-visible-grace.html

God bless,
Stephen
