This is "dogmatic young earth" creationism which is not exactly "biblical". It
is shameful to make dogmatic assertions about dates and flora and fauna in the
garden that simply are not in the text. This simple news story will
raise a barrier keeping honest truth seekers away from the Bible. This
is the Protestant version of the Galileo fiasco with the Aristoteleans.
If they want to tackle something that *is* in the text and conflicts
with current theories, they should try Noah's flood. (Maybe it's in there
too, but no one will look at it thanks to the misplaced dogmatism.)
