Three thousand Iraqi Christians living in America have become Roman
Catholics together, in a deal with the Vatican that will spark the interest
of traditionalist Anglicans who want to convert en masse without losing
their cultural identity.

a dissident congregation of the Assyrian Church of the East based in Ceres,
California, is following its bishop, Mar Bawai Soro, into the
Chaldean**Catholic
Church. That means it will keep its ancient Eastern-rite ceremonies, but
will recognise Pope Benedict XVI as Supreme Pastor.
