The theme was Protestant baiting.  Some other Protestants gave good
answers along the lines of "Come on, we all know that faith without
works is dead."

For once, I was perceived as a Protestant - and the Catholics began 
trying to convince me that the Assumption of Mary really was in the
Bible by quoting Church Fathers. :-)  They were slightly offended by
my reference to historical fiction and the Assumption in the same
sentence (although I wasn't implying that the Assumption is fiction).
