I signed the petition - despite not being Catholic. In my defense, I *do*
understand what the petition means by "violation of the bishops mandate
... 'Catholics in Political Life'" and have read said mandate, and
distributed it to Catholics (who voted for Obama anyway and think his
actions are not so bad since they expect total abortions to go down with
the free health care).

The mandate is somewhat ambiguous anyway, since there are 5 principles,
and if none of the candidates meet all 5 principles, the Catholic voter
should "do their best" to weigh them. Neither of the mainstream
candidates met all 5 principles. And the obvious course of voting for one
of the minor candidate who does did not seem to be so obvious to Catholic
(or Protestant) voters claiming to be pro-life. Besides, those few who
did are now branded "domestic terrorists" (including yours truly).
