We extend our appreciation to President George W. Bush for the steps he has taken over the past eight years to restrict the practice of abortion and to bring about a greater awareness that innocent human life is deserving of protection.
Our hearts are heavy today as we approach the 36th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision which has caused the killing of over 50 million American babies. We understand that this presidential proclamation on the sanctity of life will likely be the last one of its kind issued from the White House for the foreseeable future.
Next Tuesday, January 20, Barack Obama will be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States . He has pledged to carry out the will of the pro-abortion activists who are determined to reverse virtually every pro-life law and policy enacted during the past 35 years. On that day, and two days later on January 22, when we commemorate the Roe v. Wade decision, let us pray that, as pro-life Americans, we will recommit ourselves to this great and noble cause so that one day, in spite of the obstacles we face, the grave injustice of legal abortion will end and legal protection of the right to life for the innocent, from conception until natural death, will be restored in our country.
