I have an online newsletter, What's Happening with Christian Values.  The latest issue deals with the Notre Dame travesty at http://www.my60secondscoops.com/publications/id.118/pub_detail.asp

Past issues of this newsletter are at http://www.my60secondscoops.com/christians7/

I strongly agree with pro-life leader Colleen Parro in Dallas who wrote, "There is a spiritual war going on in this country and right now it appears that Notre Dame is on the wrong side."

Richard Viguerie, Chairman of ConservativeHQ.com (who is a lector at St. Peter's Church in Washington, Virginia), wrote that the President "is a pro-abortion extremist.  It is a gross violation of Catholic moral principles for Notre Dame to honor Barack Obama."  His complete statement is at http://conservativehq.com/blog_post/show/163

Bishop John D'Arcy of the Diocese of South Bend did a great job of pointing out that the Catholic Bishops of the United States have made it extremely clear that "Catholic institutions should not honor those who act in defiance of our fundamental moral principles.  They should not be given awards, honors, or platforms which would suggest support for their actions."

And Bishop Thomas Olmsted of the Diocese of Phoenix sent a scorching letter to Father Jenkins telling him his invitation to Obama "is a public act of disobedience to the Bishops of the United States."

The text of Bishop Olmsted's letter is at http://www.americanpapist.com/2009/03/exclusive-bp-olmsted-tells-nd.html

As of late Friday, 27 March, more than 193,000 people had signed the online petition at http://notredamescandal.com/ opposing Notre Dame's invitation to Obama and giving him an honorary degree.
