Polls show that Republicans have increased their lead for Congress in
the 2010 elections, while approval ratings for President Obama are now
at a record low.  The GOP would likely take control of Congress if
elections were held today.  Only 27% of the nation's voters strongly
approve of Obama's job performance, while 42% strongly disapprove.

Possible "dark horses" for the GOP presidential nomination.  Two
senators, two governors, and three congressmen are mentioned, along with
Dick Cheney and General Petraeus. 

Lou Dobbs might seek the presidency as an independent or third party
candidate. When asked if he might run, he replied, "Yes is the answer,"
and that he "absolutely" would remain independent of a political party.

Senator Joe Lieberman says no one thinks Obamacare will pass "as it is."
Several moderate Democrats voted to allow the legislation to be debated
but will vote against it unless significant changes are made in it.

Public opinion of Obamacare has now hit an all-time low.  43% of
Americans strongly oppose the bill, while just 21% are strongly for it.

New TV ads further inform citizens about the dangers of Obamacare.  60
Plus runs ad saying the legislation will devastate seniors, while Dick
Morris runs ad explaining harm to young adults.

The ACLU sent messages to its supporters saying that persons who don't
want federal funds to be used to pay for elective abortions are
"extremists."  The group equated abortion on demand with government
funding of contraceptive services and prenatal care.

Ironically, the ACLU takes positions on many issues far out of the
mainstream of public opinion.  And polls show large majorities of
Americans oppose federal funding of abortion.

Congressman Patrick Kennedy (D-RI) has gotten into a nasty public
dispute with Catholic Bishop Thomas Tobin over the Congressman's
"consistent actions" supporting abortion.  In a private letter 3 years
ago, which Kennedy just made public, the Bishop told him not to receive
Holy Communion.
