The Social Security Trustees Annual Report claims that the financial
health of the Trust Fund "remains unchanged," but the program now has a
$41 Billion shortfall in revenue.  Another shortfall will occur in 2011,
followed by small surpluses from 2012 to 2014.

Starting in 2015, if not before, and continuing permanently, there will
be not be enough revenue to pay expected benefits.  The Trustees say
these deficits "will be made up by redeeming trust fund assets."

Because Social Security surpluses have all been spent on the general
operations of government, the "assets" in the Trust Fund are just IOUs
from the government to itself.  Both the White House Office of
Management and Budget and the Congressional Budget Office make clear the
IOUs in the Trust Fund are NOT real assets that can be used to pay
benefits.

Small government, constitutional candidates won Senate primaries in
Colorado (Ken Buck) and Connecticut (Linda McMahon) over establishment
Republicans.  Richard Viguerie, Chairman of ConservativeHQ.com, said GOP
"primary voters are continuing to move the Republican Party
significantly to the right."

A new Rasmussen Poll finds that 57% of likely voters -- including 73% of
independents--think the Democratic congressional agenda is extreme.  A
new Gallup Poll finds that President Obama has majority support from the
people on 1 out of 13 issues.

Another Gallup Poll funds that only 19% of the people approve of the job
Congress is doing, while 75% disapprove and 6% are undecided.  Lydia
Saad, Senior Editor at Gallup, says this likely means "large seat
losses" by the Democrats in the November elections.

Congressman Lamar Smith and 17 cosponsors have introduced House
Resolution 1607 to express disapproval of the recent decision by U.S.
District Judge Vaughn Walker to overturn California's state
constitutional amendment protecting marriage.  The resolution states
that "Walker failed to conduct himself in an impartial manner" during
the court case.

A poll found that 65% of Democrats want to repeal the law prohibiting
homosexuals from serving in the military.  Half of all Democrats want to
impose zero tolerance on active duty military personnel who oppose
homosexuality.

1,000 distinguished military leaders, including former Marine Corps
Commandant Carl Mundy, have written to President Obama to say
homosexuality is incompatible with military service.  They state that
repeal of the law prohibiting open homosexuals from serving would
adversely impact morale, discipline, unit cohesion, and overall military
readiness.
