Benefits:

In the 90 days since Obamacare was enacted into law, liberals have made
some progress in trying to convince voters that the plan is not too bad.
While a solid 55% favor repeal of the new law, that has declined in
successive weeks from 63%.

Public opinion has moved a little on this issue due to taxpayers-funded
propaganda mailing to all seniors, a Democratic Party public relations
campaign, and paid radio commercials from the U.S. Department of Health
and Human Services (HHS).  The radio ads say, "The new Affordable Care
Act offers important new benefits to people with Medicare."

HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius says the department is working "to
ensure seniors know...about the new law and their Medicare benefits."
To try to counteract this, House Minority Leader John Boehner has
produced a new report, Obamacare:  Three Months of Broken Promises.

Pointing to hostile actions of the Washington, D.C. city council,
Archbishop Donald Wuerl warned that Catholics are now facing the
presumption that they do not have the right to express their religious
convictions.  "There's a growing concern" about "our very ability to
carry on our activities," he said.

The Los Angeles Times has found that Justice Sonia Sotomayor "is proving
to be a reliable liberal vote on the Supreme Court."  Edward Whelan of
the Ethics and Public Policy Center says Sotomayor "masqueraded as a
judicial conservative at her confirmation hearings," but is "a
doctrinaire liberal."

The confirmation hearings for President Obama's second nominee to the
high court, Elena Kagan, begin on June 28.  The most recent poll shows
only 35% support Kagan's confirmation.

At a White House reception for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender
(LGBT) Pride Month, President Obama reiterated his support for
homosexual marriage.  He also supports repeal of the Defense of Marriage
Act.
