[Apologetics] U.S. Confence of Catholic Bishops says Obamacare "fails our moral criteria; " may not be able to be fixed

 In particular, please click on the link to my Christian Values
newsletter which reports that that the U.S. Conference of Catholic
Bishops (USCCB) states that Obamacare "fails our moral criteria."  

The USCCB strongly denied a report it would support the legislation if
the pro-abortion portions of the Senate version are changed.  Like many
other analysts, the USCCB may believe the legislation cannot be fixed
because of the rationing of health care, especially for seniors, in
order to bring down costs.

However, if changes were made, the USCCB would study them.

Conservative Texas Governor Rick Perry won re-nomination by trouncing
moderate Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson and libertarian Debra Medina.
The results were a severe blow to President Bush, Dick Cheney, and Karl
Rove, who all backed Hutchinson.

One analyst said the outcome of the race may have been sealed when Perry
spoke at Tea Party rallies on April 15, 2009.  The Governor criticized
the Senator's votes for bailouts and her many earmarks.

Hutchinson then brought in Cheney as a high-profile endorser.  "It's
hard to imagine a worse choice," another analyst wrote.

Benefits:

Democratic leaders are trying hard to enact Obamacare before the end of
the month, maybe even by March 19.  Both the House and Senate versions
would ration health care for all Americans, especially seniors, in order
to reduce costs.

The Senate version also funds elective abortions in multiple ways.
Douglas Johnson of the National Right to Life Committee says Obamacare
"is the most pro-abortion single piece of legislation" since Roe v Wade.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Democrats have come to "near agreement" on
crucial issues in the House and Senate versions.  The House may
condition passage of the Senate bill on the Senate's passage of the
House revisions.

 The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has objected to an article in
Politico.com claiming the group would support Obamacare if the
pro-abortion provisions were removed from the bill.  The Conference says
the Senate-passed legislation "fails our moral criteria," but if changes
are made, they would study them.

 The ACLU has a blog proclaiming, "Every day should be national day of
appreciation for abortion providers."  One of the articles in the blog
says, "Thank you for safeguarding women's dreams."

President Obama has nominated Robert Chatingy to the 2nd Circuit Court
of Appeals.  As a district judge, Chatingy blatantly sided in separate
cases with a serial killer and a sex offender.

Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts told law students at the
University of Alabama that President Obama's unprecedented rebuke of the
Court during the State of the Union speech was inappropriate.   Justices
Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas refused to go and Roberts suggested
he might not attend future State of the Union speeches.
