With all polls showing strong opposition to Obamacare, Democrats in
Congress are hoping their 2010 election losses will not be too
extensive.  The latest Gallup Poll shows the Democrats still ahead 47%
to 44%.

The latest Rasmussen poll has the Republicans way head for Congress, 45%
to 35%.  This is the biggest lead for the GOP in three years of polling.

In Senate races, Republicans lead in 9 states, Democrats in only 2
states.  In races for governor, the GOP is ahead in 6, Democrats in 2,
and there is currently 1 tie.

Benefits:

The outcome of the Obamacare Bill may be a "photo finish" in the House,
but liberals appear to have the upper hand.  The legislation is behind
on all vote counts, but House pro-life Democrats are moving to support
the pro-abortion Senate bill.

Congressman Bart Stupak has confirmed that he has lost some votes and
the others are "all getting pounded" by Democratic supporters, like
unions.  Stupak said he's disappointed with those "who said they'd be
with us and now they're not."

Every public opinion poll shows overwhelming opposition to Obamacare,
but Democrats are out to achieve their greatest goal, government-run
medical care.  Conservatives should continue fighting.  As baseball
legend Yogi Berra said, "It ain't over till it's over."

Already, 75 ballot measures have qualified for the ballot in 2010,
including an initiative in Alaska to prohibit a minor from obtaining an
abortion without parental notification.  If the legislature does not
enact this into law, the people will vote on it on August 24.

This proposal has the strong support of Sarah Palin, the Alaska Family
Council, and the Catholic bishop of Anchorage.  It is opposed by the
state affiliates of Planned Parenthood and the ACLU.

The ACLU is ready to sue Virginia, if Governor Bob McDonnell votes a
bill to provide for an abortion rights specialty license plate.
Virginia currently has a "Choose Life" license plate that was sponsored
by then-State Senator Ken Cuccinelli, now the state's attorney general.
