[Apologetics] The "Framework" view of creation

Hi Stuart,
I get your explanation and I think you do justice to the framework idea
(this is the first I've heard that view). As I understand it then, Gen 1 is
God thinking about how he will create the earth, rather than the
chronological event of it being created. As if he is deciding on the recipe
before baking the cake. Is that right?
If so, then how is Gen 2 viewed? It seems very chronological, even though
the events seemed opposite chronologically from Gen 1. Both chapters have a
chronological sense to them, I guess one has to be viewed more in the
framework model than the other.
