What the Catholic vote tells us about presidential elections

The problem with polls about Catholics is most of them don't screen for
weekly churchgoers versus mostly inactive persons. A large number of
persons who don't go to Mass every Sunday still self-identify as
Catholics, so their views and votes get thrown into the mix in polls
with those who actually profess their faith.
The result in a distortion of what real Catholic opinions and voting
behaviors actually are.
(Even among weekly churchgoers, blacks of all religions voted 99% for
Obama, which further distorts what constitutes "the Catholic vote.")
Having said all that, Obama and his liberal allies read these polls and
conclude they can pursue pro-abortion policies and persecute the Church
as much as they want and still win "the Catholic vote."
The Church should utilize the services of a professional pollster to
survey weekly churchgoers on various matters and then release that to
the media and the world. It is important for both Catholics and
non-Catholics to know what real Catholics actually think about various
public policy issues, public officials, and politicians.
