There are two different translations of the Pope's remarks, each with several interpretations, on what Francis actually said and what he really meant.
There have been previous problems that can be traced to the imprecision of the Pope's words.  He frequently speaks extemporaneously in ways that cause confusion.  But by looking carefully what he has said in its full context, as Akin has done in this matter, it makes more sense.
