medical evaluation by a team of neutral experts and proper treatment to see
where she can go from her current state. As for stopping her feeding - I
think it's morally unacceptable, and certainly a case being pushed for
eventual euthanasia legislation.
I see little hope for her rescue in this case, and I do think it's just one
more step in a very nasty direction.
There is a lot of hope for people with even the worst prognosis. I think
Terri has been denied a lot of possibilities she should have been offered.
The following is an article about a friend of mine from school. When he was
about 13 he developed an undiagnosed neurological condition that left him
unable to communicate or care for himself. Today he has not only relearnt
to communicate (he doesn't remember much from before the illness' onset) but
he also helps teach others to do the same, and is involved in development of
such skills.
