I realize this list has not been used in a while, but it has been getting
flooded with subscription requests from random emails.  I discarded them
all, of course.  Instead of disabling the list, I set a password on
the subscribe button.  Someone already on the list will need to
give a new user the password to subscribe.  This will serve as an
introduction.

User: stranger
Passwd: welcome angels

The password will be visible here in the archives, of course, but hopefully
the bots sending the subscription spam will not notice.  If they do,
I will change the password, and you will have to contact me for the new
password.
