Dear Gathnetters,
I forward this note from Joseph Shulam, the head of the  _Netivyah Bible 
Instruction Ministry_ <http://www.netivyah.org/>
,the Messanic Bible Institute in Jerusalem.  Joe is in the US at the 
moment but the members of
the Netivyah group have been a big help to Judy and the family.  His 
note gives a flavor of how much
Eli was respected and loved by both the Jews and the Messanic Jews there 
and I am sure we will never know the full impact of his ministry in 
representing his Messiah, Jesus to the people of Israel until we  
ourselves get to heaven.

We are all sad at the death of our beloved brother Eliyahu.  I am not in 
Israel, but I know that the funeral of Eliyahu was a very honorable and 
respectful burial.  It happened at midnight and there were many people 
there and several Rabbis spoke of Eliyahu's character and personality 
and contribution to the community.  They mentioned his great interest 
and faith in the Messiah.  Now, the family is sitting for seven days.  
Every evening the people from our congregation and from the Synagogues 
in Beit Shemesh are holding prayer services in the house of the White 
family. 
 
I realize how hard it is for the family to accept Eliyahu's death, but 
he suffered no little in the last months, and if his life would have 
been prolonged he would have suffered much more.  Eliyahu was ready to 
go up to the Lord and he went happy and in peace with His maker.  We 
share your grief!
