[Gathnet] In new house

Hello all,
Been real busy... we're partially moved into the new house.
Partially, because we're leaving the nice furniture in the house we're
selling to make it seem homier to buyers.

We're encouraged by a pickup in the number of viewers. Hopefully,
the dearth of buyers in August is over (though it isn't September yet).

After the piano mover moved the piano (and other large items) for us,
we've been taking carloads of stuff over. I try and do things at the
other house, then take a carload back. I've semi-permanently installed
our roof baggage carrier, which gives a lot of volume to our already
pretty spacious (for a Japanese car) Subaru. The carrier is well
designed so that it doesn't get any water in it, which is a good thing
since it rained cats and dogs yesterday.

There's been so much rain, I mowed the lawn at the old place even
though it started to rain. I figured that was a dry as the grass was
going to get before the weekend.

Josiah's been under the weather, but Jacqui is having a tough time
figuring out whether it is just the move, some sort of cold or what. He
was better by the time I got home, and was out enjoying his trike. I
had hussled the TV and DVD player on this trip, so that Josiah, if still
as sick as Jacqui said, could be distracted by his favorite Veggie Video
"Little Joe" (We often sing the lead song to "Lit-tle Jo-SI-ah", instead
of the Video's "oh lit-tle JOE--").

Well, lots of things today, mostly in terms of stopping leaks. The
faucets for the old house connections to the washer dripped (not a
problem when attached to a washer). The water connection to the fridge
at the new place wasn't working, dripped a bit over time. Fixed that.
Yesterday, I fixed the shutoff to the new house fridge which was leaking
down the wall (again, it wasn't a problem until they disconnected).
Still an item or two to fix that I just noticed at the new place. Beth,
a little more "dry rot" on that door, but on the inside.... sigh. At
least I know what to do this time.

Had an issue connecting the computer, but I figured it out, and most
things are working smoothly, even though I down to G*A*S*P, dialin
speeds... Ironically, though we are theoretically "in the sticks", we
have a better phone connection, better water. Now if only I could get
DSL... ;)

I do have a pile of todos already, but that's life with home
ownership. I guess I should be happy when the list only reflects one home.

Take care, we're thinking about you all.
