Dear all,

I wanted to let you know a little bit about how things
are going here.

We are managing all right. I started the semester
last week and I have four classes – which is enough –
I hope. I will also have a fifth class later in the
semester and that is more than I ‘ve ever had before.
Any more than that I fear would be too much and I
would not have much time to be with the kids.. I am
still getting used to my new schedule.
I have to begin looking for some hours somewhere else
because one of the departments I work in – the
teachers’ seminar - will be closing soon and joining
the other department. Even though I also work in the
second department, it is very unlikely that they will
give me four or more courses from one dept. It will
also be very sad not be able to continue working with
my supervisor in the seminar because she happens to be
the best person I have ever worked with.
Anyway, I really need to get some hours at some other
college or university.

The kids are doing well in their schools. Moshe is in
the 11th grade and continues to do well and likes his
school. Ortal started a new school and it is working
out very well. Both schools are very expensive and I
was just shocked to find out how much Ortal’s school
is…but I expect to get some discounts for a single
mother. I feel very fortunate that am able to support
us and also have enough time to be with the kids and
take care of other things.

We are now waiting for the results of the
Disengagement plan (from the Gaza strip) There are
lots of demonstrations going on for and against. I
won’t get into it as it is a complicated situation but
all I can say is that we are in great need of a leader
who has some foresight.
Soon, we will be waiting to see the outcome of the
U.S. elections. I sent in my absentee ballot through
the embassy so I trust it will get there on time.
This was one time I really wanted to vote. I just
cannot believe the things that are coming out of
Kerry’s mouth...it is pretty scary.

Jonathan, I was glad to read about your memories of
Eli. I still have to remind myself every day that he
is not here with us… I miss him a lot. I also miss all
of his family - which became my family and I wonder
when I might see any of you again. So, the invitation
still stands for you – or anyone else who wants to
visit us…that would really be great!

Love, Judy
