[Gathnet] Terri: Bulimic or strangled?

Michael's story as to how Terri met with her accident is that Terri was
bulimic, and collapsed while "purging". In addition to a heart attack
caused by potassium imbalance, there was choking. The potassium imbalance
was caused by her purging after a meal. This is one of the major causes
of death when struggling with bullemia and other eating dissorders.

The bulimic part seems to be true, and the neck bruises are also
consistent with the choking theory. So I am dropping the strangulation
insinuations. This is all about whether Terri is/was currently PVS or
MCS. I still think Michael should have spent more of the therapy money on
tests before lobbying to stop feeding. It would have done a lot more to
convince the family and the rest of us than spending it on lawyers. It
would also have helped if he hadn't put her 2 cats to sleep immediately
after collecting the jury award.

On blue-state blogs, red-staters are accused of being inconsistent because
they want to torture and/or execute healthy people, but keep sick and
dying people alive. Here is the quote:

http://realisticdem.dailykos.com/story/2005/3/17/113055/168

"Let's not forget how excited so many in congress are about putting
people to death. And then there's Scalia's recent comments about how
unfortunate it was that the Supreme Court ruled against executing
  children."

"Our country's moral compass is out of whack. We will torture and murder
healthy people, but our only interest with the sick and dying are to
  prolong their pain and agony."

Their position, on the other hand, is that less than healthy people should
be put out of their misery, and healthy people should be kept alive
regardless of their behaviour."
