[Gathnet] Sam Harris and the new Jihad

Julie's cousin is really into Sam Harris.  He is very down on 
Islamofascism, and by extension, any belief in anything other than matter 
and Human Reason.  The symptom he decries is violence, hate, and 
bloodshed.  His diagnosis is religious belief.  His prescription is 
elimination of all Infidels (those who fail to acknowledge the supremacy 
of Human Reason) - in extreme cases (like the Islamofascists) by nuclear 
anihilation.  His prognosis is world peace, as all evil is banished by the 
Light of Reason as all the worlds inhabitants are forced to abide by 
Rational Ethics.

He seems unaware of any isomorphism between his own eschatology and the 
Islamic one he hates.  He is very popular.
