Thought this would be a good item to send off.  Just heard this week 
that Kipher is still in the National Merit Scholarship contest.  They 
announced the semi finalists this week.  We are rather proud but 
bewildered parents.  Scott doesn't think that he got this far, and I 
know that I didn't.  It has been a scramble to get the next batch of 
paper work in - we weren't notified about it til the day before it was 
due - so Kipher worked on it all evening after taking a 4 hour computer 
networking exam for his job.  There are two other cutoffs before we 
would hear if he is eligible for a scholarship. But not having expected 
to get this far we are pleased and proud.  He does have to keep up his 
grades - no senior slump...( We haven't said anything about it to him, 
but he has heard the term from others at church.  Anita
