[Gathnet] Big Snow

Hi everyone,
   Unusual for St Louis, We got a Big Snow... probably about 6  
inches.  I was playing a concert about an hour away or so.  I was  
happy to have my Subaru.  The AWD or 4WD is not a panacea, of course.   
You have to be careful, of course, judging your speed especially  
downhill with lights at the bottom, but it's very well behaved in the  
snow if you don't do stupid things like slam on brakes or gun the  
engine.

   Passed all sorts of people all over the road... none seemed to have  
flipped or anything.  Most seemed to have already left their cars.  A  
BMW spun out in front of me (but I had left plenty of room, and  
steered around him)  The nice thing was that for the most part, I had  
a big 3-4 lane highway mostly to myself, until I got close to the  
house.  They shutdown one side of LoneDell, so I had to drive around  
to the other way.  Sat in a line about 10-15 mins until someone in the  
front of the line realized it was just a stalled tanker truck, and  
went around.  Then, I got home fairly simply after that.  This one is  
so deep, I'll probably just use my tractor bucket without my wooden  
plow attachment...  The weight of the snow would just break it.

   Someone did kindly take their bobcat and run it up our driveway as  
well.  That was really, really nice, as we're the only ones up this  
part of the drive.

   I guess I'll be taking the tractor out in the morning, but I think  
we'll have church at home... Snow is going to continue, and will  
probably last until midnight.  Maybe 7 inches when done.

   We'll see if I want to take vacation monday.   Kids will be ecstatic!
