[Gathnet] Anne's operation and recovery

Dear Gathnetters,
This is just a note to let you know that the doctor is very pleased with 
Anne's operation and recovery (24 hours later).  She is not very happy being 
in the hospital with all of the happenings going on but will put up with it 
I think for a few more days.  They are going to use hypobaric therapy on her 
today at about 1:00.  This is suppose to speed healing faster.

They closed up the open wound by making slices in the flesh off to each side 
of the wound and pulling the flesh over the bone and sewing it together.  
This left two open wounds about 3/8" wide which are over flesh and hopefully 
will heal fast.  Part of the problem has been Anne's circulation is not the 
greatest which has accounted for the slow or lack of healing.  Apparently 
the extra O2 from the hypobaric machine is suppose to help this.  The doc 
said that there was so pus around the wound when he went in there which is a 
good sign.  They did do samples to check for various kinds of bacteria etc. 
in it.   She is on antibiotics and pain medicine.  She doesn't do too well 
with the pain medicine.   She was out of it last night when she called me.
