[Gathnet] More problems for Anne

Dear Gathnetters,
I have more bad news to report. Anne is going to have her amputation
operation next week. This last operation just didn't work. There is not
enough circulation in the lower right leg to sustain any growth. The
attempt to cover the bone with flesh drawn from around the leg just didn't
work. The flesh again died and there is no more ideas on how to save the
leg. They will cut the leg off about 5" below the knee and leave a
sufficient flesh flap to cover the wound and then sew this together. They
think there is more circulation higher in the leg so that this will work.
The idea is that after this is healed (pray God that it will be done) then
she will be fitted with a prothesus (I call it a peg leg!). This is
relatively easy as they only have to simulate the ankle motion. If this
should fail, then it will be an amputation above the knee which makes the
prothesus situation even worse.

God is trying to teach us something from all of this. I am learning
patience the hard way. We would appreciate your prayers.

Sincerely, der alte Grossvater
