[Gathnet] Good news about Nate McClatchey

Dear Gathnetters,
I have a piece of good news that I as a proud grandfather would like to pass on to you all.  Nate has received both an Academic Scholarship and the prestigious  Presidential Scholarship to Point Loma Nazarene University here in San Diego.  We are all very proud of him and his accomplishments.  He plans to live on campus next year (so he can surf in is spare time) and come home easily when he wants.  Actually, the university is just north of where I use to work for the navy.  It is a really beautiful campus on the ocean.  I have tried to convince him to be a physics major but he prefers math at the present.  He has a real gift in mathematics and they have a good department there.  

Kiefer (the Wheaton College student) is anxious to get home to San Diego for the semester break (I think to escape the cold, ice and snow of Wheaton).  He will fly this coming Sat. and we are all anxious to see him.

Long live the homeschooling movement !!!!!!!   They are producing really wonderful students.  ( I might have a bit of a bias here) but with Anita as their teacher in conjunction with the home school consortium here (Heritage Christian Schools) I think they have the best possible primary and secondary education.  

We are waiting for the rest of the gang both here,  in St. Louis, and in Fairfax now to make there academic marks in society.
