On the lighter side of life, I thought I'd brief you on my annual Fall
Ritual.
It consists of climbing the roof with poles and brushes, and sweeping
the chimney. The Wood stove doesn't really leave much residue, but I
figure if I do this yearly, I'll never have to wonder if I've got an
issue.
Of course, it can't be my "Fall Chimney Sweep" without me whistling
and quoting as much of the "Bert the Chimney Sweep" scene from "Mary
Poppins" as possible. Actually, I can remember quite a bit.
My favorite part is, of course, coming in with my hands nice and
black, pretending to touch or hug Lauren and Jacqui, quoting (from the
movie again), "It's just good clean soot, Lauren. Good Clean Soot".
Fortunately for my family, this is once a year... ;)
I also, while I'm on the roof, remove the leaves from the gutters, but
I haven't got any movie quotes for that.
Have a wonderful day! (SherOOOOO)
