[Gathnet] I'm thinking...

My fellow Gathnetters, including those who often disagree politically
with me

Please think through the following:

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away men's initiative
and independence.
You cannot help men permanently by doing for them, what they could and
should do for themselves.

Some Attribute this to Lincoln, but it is apparently more likely
Boetcher (born 1873)

I do not wish to offend, but as I watched the Presidential and Vice
Presidential debates, this is exactly what I saw coming from one side,
tearing down this or that company (which apparently didn't give them
many funds), and blowing past the horrific fraud of Freddie Mae/Mac
which they were associated closely with, which are the core of the
current economic crisis.

Please, please we need to build up America and each other. We cannot
do this by continuing to elect those who play us against each other,
and expect to be a strong country. We cannot expect the same people
who were most largely to blame for hiding Freddie Mae/Mac (Sorry, but
Dodd, Frank and Obama were all deflecting investigations into these
entities by calling those investigating racists) to fix our economy.

There are many issues. Essentials of Freedom of Speech, basic issues
of Life and home which hang in the balance. Please take these to
heart when you vote, and I do ask you vote for McCain/Palin when you do.

God Bless all of you,

Jonathan Gathman
