[Linux] Wire hum from Power pack

Hello guys,
I'm not sure who all is on the Linux board, but I thought I'd let you
know several things.

1) I'm all back up with Fedora Core 5, up to date, as far as I can tell.
    Advantages:
Support for hardware (Like my new SATA drive, and SMP
motherboard... way cool)
I like to make big jumps in O/S, because that way I don't have to
do it as often... :)

     Issues:
I had a hard time getting bluetooth to work with my palm pilot
(dialin network bluetooth). That was when I discovered they made it
very simple, and cut out lots of semi-useless hacks from the previous
methods. The problem is, it was hard to find out how to do it.
Essentially, it's all there except a new daemon "dund" which connects
the Bluez stack to ppp. That was the key. There's several things
you'll want to change, such as standard passkey, etc.

SELinux - I found this a bit obtuse, and unweildy. Stuart says
I just didn't see the console... Essentially, if you have SELinux, and
you can't figure out what in the world is going on, it's a good plan to
see if SELinux is blocking access.

Samba. Configs have changed, but not horrifically, and the
worst problem was SELinux blocked it.

Squid. Bummer - they took out "inetd" as an authentication. I
still can't figure out how to make a user specific rule without it.
I've barred the kids from internet until I can figure it out, but
they're young enough still not to care.

2) Several of you heard me complain about the hum that comes over my
music computer to the "line" jack (doesn't mess up my digital,
fortunately) I just discovered today that it's the battery charger.
Either it's creating the hum, or it's feeding hum from the electrical
system in my house. Now that I know that, I can make direct WAV
recordings with my PC without routing through my mixer, which is good
for just writing music, and taking a sample.

3) I've been wanting to integrate my Sibelius recordings with the Roland
mixer. Unfortunately, Sibelius has decided that it doesn't want to be a
"sequencer", so I've not been able to do that... :(

If anybody has a reasonable sequencer for Windows, I'd like to hear
about it... Honestly, I just want to play my score, and synchronize
with the Mixer. I'm not interested in a alot of bells and whistles
beyond that...
