[Linux] Macs

Dear Gathtechers.
Elizabeth and I have been collectively drooling over the new duo core
Apple MacBook Pro. (I've been disappointed in my Dell Laptop in some
ways, though I've found if I disconnect the power cord, and run on
batteries, it gets rid of the terrible hum on my recordings). However,
Windows in general is still just not there in terms of Music
production. I tried, and am giving up. I plan on transferring my
Sibelius License to Apple, and attempting to run Quicken in their
Windows emulator. Barring that, I'll check into Quicken for Mac (Sorry,
Stuart, I've not warmed to the Linux software... no support for online
work, which I depend on to spend less time on finances).

If you're tired of Windows, and semi-seriously considering a Mac,
especially with OSX, I have some employee pricing (AT&T), which might
ease the crunch a bit. Also, Microsoft products, if you're interested
there. Checking out their "Office", etc, my discount actually brings it
within a reasonable price range, but is direct MS, not a 3rd world hack.

I'm waiting for a cash buildup before buying (just paid off tractor,
and want to pay of variable "floater" loan I've used to help me move
into the current house, and shipment with the latest OSX version
(Leopard), unless I hear that it's simplistic to upgrade. That means
probably June at the very earliest.

Elizabeth, I understand, is biding her time on when she may actually
go over seas.

Ciao!
