Time to make serious effort against nextdoor.com . . .
I scheduled a regular meetup on meetup.com - 1st Thursday of the month
at 6pm :
These regular meetups will be dedicated to making a recipe for the
"Windows User". The idea is for them to connect to the mesh via a WAP so
that no additional networking knowledge is required. They will be
dependent on someone running a DHCP server.
It would be nice to implement transparent pass-through to the ICANN/IANA
internet - perhaps by plugging the ethernet cable from their ISP to the
mesh router. This would need to be firewalled from the mesh.
They would use their own WAP - the firewall and routing will be on the
mesh router.
We can plan on adding a standard WAP to our own mesh nodes, so that the
Windows User can use the mesh elsewhere in the neighborhood. They need
to have VPN access through the mesh to the global internet via their
home ISP.
There also needs to be an application, like a neighborhood SSB available
on the mesh.
