The gateway was a 400Mhz Celeron with 256Meg ram. Running at 100% capacity, the machine could filter about 120000 messages/day checking SPF and other items (e.g. hello_blacklist), delivering about 100 mostly legit messages/day. The spam was coming in a rate of 2.5Million / day (as tracked by iptables). Although the spammers give up easier, the resulting backlog was resulting in 6 - 12 hour delays for incoming legitimate mail. A faster server would handle the load, but we opted to use spamsoap.com to prefilter. -- Stuart D. Gathman Business Management Systems Inc. I haven't checked what macros are available for the second hello. Does anyone have a table of which macros are available in which milter callbacks for which sendmail versions? That would be a nice document to post. -- Stuart D. Gathman Business Management Systems Inc.
