Short answer:

$ CVSROOT=taylor at fairfax.gathman.org:/work/cvs cvs co verba

But you have already done this on your Mac Mini.  You should not
do it again unless you deleted your working directory.

Perhaps you wanted to check for any changes I might have made 
(none yet):

$ cd verba
$ cvs update
